Fruit Warrior goes on sale

We are Huong, Lars and Louis, and we make cleaning products from upcycled pineapple peels. The peels are left over by the canning industry in Vietnam and would otherwise go unused. Fermentation turns them into eco-enzymes, the foundation of our cleaners, dish soaps and laundry detergents. From now on you can order our first products for the home and for babies in Germany.

Fruit Warrior at the Cradle to Cradle Congress

Do good and talk about it: in September we took part in the 10th International Cradle to Cradle Congress at TU Berlin, the world's largest gathering around Cradle to Cradle. There we were able to show how the circular economy works for us and how pineapple peels that would otherwise be waste become the foundation of our cleaning products. We were delighted by the great interest and the positive feedback.

Pineapple Cultivation

The province of Thanh Hóa is one of the main pineapple-growing regions in Vietnam. On around 4,000 to 5,500 hectares, about 130,000 to 150,000 tonnes of fruit are harvested every year, above all the aromatic Queen pineapple. It takes around 18 to 24 months from planting to the first harvest.

What makes our eco-enzymes special:

Fermenting pineapple peels creates a natural cleaning complex with powerful enzymes and organic acids. It breaks down organic soiling in a targeted way, helps remove unpleasant odours and cleans especially gently. Plant-based surfactants complement the enzyme power and reliably carry loosened dirt and grease away.

How it works

Break down

Four enzyme classes break down different organic residues.

Our enzyme complex from fermented pineapple peels combines the enzymes amylases, pectinases, proteases and cellulases. Each enzyme class targets specific residues. In this way starch, fruit and vegetable residues, protein and plant fibres are broken down into smaller components that then come off the surface more easily.

Loosen

Organic acids help to dissolve limescale and water stains.

During the three-month fermentation, acetic and lactic acid are produced, among other things. These organic acids lower the pH of the cleaning complex and help to gently loosen limescale build-up and water stains on suitable surfaces.

Bind

Plant-based surfactants pick up grease and loosened dirt particles.

Once enzymes and organic acids have broken down or loosened the dirt, the surfactants take over: they lower the surface tension of the water, dissolve films of grease and oil and surround the dirt particles. This stops the residues from simply settling back on the surface.

Rinse away

Water carries the loosened dirt away; natural scented oils add freshness.

The bound grease and dirt particles disperse in the mopping or rinsing water and can then simply be rinsed away. Depending on the product, a pleasant foam supports the application. Finally, essential plant oils provide a natural, fresh scent.
